On the first full day of Olympic competition , we already have a heartbreaking story. French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a grotesque broken leg while performing on the vault. The immediate post- injury photo is terrifying :According to Juliet Macur on Twitter, a loud snap was heard when Said landed . Said was stretchered off after the horrific injury .
